Hartford Church of England High School

Stakeholder Voice

At Hartford Church of England High School, we recognise the importance of stakeholder voice and listening to feedback from all members of our school community.

Governors provide important support and challenge to everything that the school does, especially from strategic perspective.

Within school, students are regularly consulted on aspects of school life and changes have been made to policies and practise as a result including the development of the HART email address, optional leggings for PE and mirrors in the toilets and dance studio.

Students have the opportunity to lead the school in a variety of roles as prefects, ambassadors, school council members, sports leaders and on interview panels for prospective staff.

Every half term we have Parent Forum meetings both in person and online where parents are encouraged to give their voice and opinions to shape the future direction of the school.

As a result of parent voice, we have changed the way in which parents purchase school uniform and most importantly, brought in a brand new PE kit. We have worked with parents to improve our communication strategy and developed our Parent Teacher Association.

We send out surveys to all stakeholders: students, staff, parents and governors when key decisions are being made too. All those with a vested interest in the school were consulted on the brand and logo when this was redeveloped in the spring of 2024. The updated school logo was designed in collaboration with children and adults with our students having the final input working with a design agency to fulfil the brief!

Staff voice is equally important to us. Each week school staff attend three briefings to be kept fully informed of what is happening in our school community. There are multiple staff meetings and consultation sessions throughout the year leading to the development of policies around teaching and learning and behaviour and attitudes.

Stakeholder voice is extremely important to us and we encourage everyone in our community to provide feedback and seek clarity on any issue in a considered and measured way.
